The PILS Project held a successful roundtable discussion on Friday 19th September at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies entitled Protective Costs Orders.

The seminar, which was attended by over 25 from the legal profession, was aimed at solicitors and barristers who are interested in judicial review covered a number of issues, including:

  • Case law overview showing how PCOs have evolved
  • Practical experience of PCOs in Northern Ireland
  • When to consider PCOs
  • Possible resistance to PCOs and disadvantages to lawyers
